På kortet ses badehusene i havnen. I 1785 åbner byens første søbadeanstalt nord for kastellet på privat initiativ. Den skal gøre det muligt for oplyste københavnere at følge Rosseau og andre oplysningsmænds anbefalinger af søbade og havvand som helsebringende.
